This frame is from my work with sandpipers and waterfowl of Israel, as a part of a session with the green sandpiper on the valleys of Israel on winter and migration part from northern Europe to Israel and Africa,
some of the population of the green sandpiper spend the winter in Israel but not stay to breed, the green sandpiper is a very dark sandpiper that feeds on the shallow water of ponds and marshes and their mud from beetles worms and other invertebrate and sometime also swim or dive to find small fish .
here the sandpiper is resting before continue search for food in the last light of the day .
